Gua Sha

Gua Sha, literally called “Scraping Sha bruises” , which means using certain instruments (such as Gua Sha board, coins or ceramic Chinese soup spoon) to scrape on skin surface to help remove qi and blood stagnation, expel external pathogens (cold, wind, dampness and heat) . some people also called  it as “instrument assisted press-stroking”. After Gua sha, you may get slight bumpy like bruise on the skin, which is literature “Sha”, “Sha” can be in red , blue, purple or even blackish color depends on your conditions.

In ancient Chinese medicine, Gua Sha is an effective treatment for “fever” diseases, also commonly been used in east Asian medicine healing system, such as Vietnam, Japan, Korea, Indonesia and Laos. With thousands years development, Gua Sha comes to an important technique in Chinese Medicine clinic practice and can be used with acupuncture, cupping  and  Chinese herbal treatment together.
